Summary
Do you need a basic medical vocabulary and knowledge of medicinal treatment of patients?
At this 2-day course, you get an introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the largest human organ systems as well as an understanding of the main diseases and current medical treatments.
After the course you will understand:
- How the body is composed and functions from cells to organ systems.
- The symptoms and signs of most common diseases.
- How the body interacts with drugs and how drugs affect the body.
You will benefit greatly from this knowledge in your ongoing dialog with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and health scientific colleagues – and thereby you’ll contribute more effectively to your organisation’s value creation.
Teaching format
You will be taught by clinical experts from the healthcare system and the pharmaceutical industry. All are experienced in teaching this subject to both HCPs and non-health scientific professionals.
- Anatomy and Physiology: mandatory online self-study tutorials prior to the classroom course days.
- Pathology and Pharmacology: mainly instructor-led interactive classroom training. You can, however, also attend these sessions online.

- Introduction: general, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology.
- The circulatory system: the heart (AMI).
- The circulatory system: blood vessels (atherosclerosis and hypertension).
- The pulmonary system: COPD and asthma.
- Summary of Day 1
Day 2
- Oncology: introduction, accelerated diagnosis, and screening.
- Oncology: the most common types of malignancies.
- Lifestyle diseases: obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome (hypertension, dyslipidemia, and atherosclerosis).
- Primary vs. secondary prevention, options, and strategies.
- Alcohol and smoking, including nicotine supplements such as vaping, snuff, and nicotine pouches.
- Wrap up
